Cherries and Nectarines and Days by the Pool – The Bounty of the Month of July

If the Month of July was a meal what would you want it to consist of? How would you food wise celebrate the Month of July?

To me, a favorite procedure this time of year, as dinner time approaches, is to go out into the garden with a bowl in my hand, and harvest homegrown vegetables.

I pick large, deep red, ripe and juicy tomatoes. Crunchy green beans. Crunchy crisp lettuce. I dig up a couple of potatoes. Pull up some carrots. I pick kale. Arugula. Pick parsley, dill and chives.

Vegetables are so crisp and bouncy this time of Summer, I usually only steam them slightly. I really like the vegetables just as they are. To truly delight in the taste. Truly taste them. Adding just a bit of salt and butter. Lot’s of butter.

Out of a spiritual perspective, vegetables are far more beneficial than yet known by humankind. I eat vegetables newly harvested while they contain their bouncy energy, their magic and wisdom. You can literally feel them brimming with life force. Not frozen, not canned.

Another favorite meal this time of year, are slices of home grown sun ripe tomatoes and home made mozzarella cheese, drenched in olive oil. Freshly picked parsley on top. To me, it’s the taste of sunshine and warmth and vitality.

July is the Month I delight in nectarines and cherries. In days by the pool.

To me, the Month of July is luscious and rich.
It is the Queen of the Summer Months. Colorful, saturated, filled with life force. Nature is brimming with riches. This morning as I was running in the forest I suddenly encountered shrubs full of bright red raspberries. Ripe, juicy and delicious. A few steps later I was embraced by the most enchanting scent of honeysuckle. I looked around and the forest was filled with honeysuckle flowers. It felt like stepping into a fairy tale. What a delight.

I have my birthday in July and the weather is always warm, lush and sunny on my day. Life embracing.

What do you cherish about the Month of July?

My proud collection of Hawaiian Tropic Fragrance Mist. The yellow Hawaiian Tropic Golden Paradise scent is described as warm sand and creamy coconut. The scent of the blue one, Hawaiian Tropic Summer Dreams, as passion flower, mango and musks. The turquoise one, Hawaiian Tropic Tropical Oasis island, contains coconut and raspberry sorbet. The scent of the pink one, Hawaiian Tropic Exotic Breeze has the ingredients of juicy mango and golden amber. That’s my favorite.
