Seaside Beauty in the Month of March

Yesterday I went on a hike. I went to the seaside resort Arild, in the south of Sweden.
I went down to the harbor. No one around. Delightful solitude.
Lying down on the ground by the seaside I looked into the March late Winter skyline where sea meets the sky.
Velvety hues of blue.
Stillness.
The sounds of gentle waves rolling in.
Birds chirping in the distance.
Inhaling the subtle scent of salty ocean air.

I had been on a long lush walk in the woods. Then I a made a camp fire in the forest near an old farmhouse. I wrapped a potato in foil and placed it in the hot ashes of the camp fire.
Delicious.

The old farm house is called Himmelstorp. The name could be translated into Sky Cottage, although I as a etymologist buff know that in this case the word himmel has another origin. Himmelstorp is the location of a 1960s Swedish television series Kullamannen. Four kids spend the Summer in the farmhouse. It lies amidst idyllic meadows, deep forests and the rocky shores of the remote and beautiful peninsula Kullaberg. The kids soon discover the old legend of Kullamannen and mysterious things start to happen…

Kullamannen a really good show.
For you film buffs out there, the series offers an opportunity to enjoy actor Eddie Axberg in the role of the bartender.
Here is what wikipedia has so say about the TV-series (in Swedish).
You can watch Kullamannen here (in Swedish). It has seven episodes. I’m rewatching it today.
The scenery along the legendary shore line is stunning. A striking beauty.
