I put my headphones on. Close my eyes. Turn the volume up. Up. Up. Uup.
And then I just enjoy.
Heat Above by American rock band Greta Van Fleet is the song sounding in my headphones at the moment. I play it over and over again. I have a crush on this song. A crush on the sound of the voice of singer Josh Kiszka. I totally get the comparisons with Queen and Led Zeppelin. Then again. This is something new. A fresh take.
I enjoy listening to interviews where the Greta Van Fleet guys talk about how they enjoy visiting new countries and cultures and get to know the people there, as a way to expand their consciousness. How they grow their own vegetables. How they meditate a lot. How they always meditate before making an important business decision. How when on tour, they go for a jog in the mornings and spend time in nature on their day off to keep balanced while gigging the big cities. How they have routines for their emotional and mental health. How they make sure there is always someone to talk to. Or to get that extra hug.
I love that young guys write lyrics like this.
Can you feel my love?
Rising with the heat above
Life’s the story of
Ascending to the stars as one
Ah. Unity consciousness.
Apparently it was Elton John who recommended them to do the flamboyant outfits. All in white. It’s right up my alley too.
Can you fee-eel my loo-oove?
Yes, we sure can. I love this.
