Drawings in the 1970s – the Colorful Style of Illustrator Monica Schultz

Would you buy a book judging by it’s cover?

I would. At least if the cover has been drawn by illustrator Monica Schultz.

Schultz has illustrated a vast number of book covers over the decades.

She is also the graphic artist behind numerous children’s book, and, escpecially in the 1970’s, a frequent illustrator at magazines like Femina and news papers like Dagens Nyheter.

I have come across one of her vintage children’s books – Mamman and pappan som gjorde arbetsbyte. Published in 1970 it’s a display of the style of that era.

What colors, what playful interiors. Check out the table cloths, the curtains, the wall papers, the rugs.

Excellent work Monica Schultz!
